Smashcut Media is a micro-production studio run by me, Michael Pick, and a small circle of occasional collaborators.

Specializing in screencasts, video demos, animation and motion graphics for the web, I also offer post-production facilities and social media consulting services, taking your video through from pre-production concept generation right through to garnering attention in the social media stratosphere.

I'm based in Sapporo, Japan but work with clients from around the world, most commonly in Europe and the U.S. thanks to my largely web-based workflow.

I have worked extensively as a social media consultant, professional full-time tech and design blogger and of course, pro-screencaster, and bring with me a strong knowledge of the social media and web 2.0 space.

If you need to explain RSS, APML or DNS masking in a hurry, rest assured that we speak the same language. And if those terms make no sense to you at all, don't worry - I'm fluent in non-geek, plain-speaking english too!

I have a background in film and education, masters degrees in both, and higher education teaching experience in film and media.

I make use of a professional work-flow centered around the industry standard Final Cut Pro Studio 2 & Adobe CS3 Suite, and have an excellent knowledge of the very best formats and means for sharing great looking video online.
